Two of our social psychology classes, under the guidance of lecturer Angela Napoli, embarked on a mission to make a difference in our campus community. Through a class assignment, students utilized persuasive techniques to collect donations for the on-campus food pantry.
Their efforts were astounding, resulting in the collection of over 300 food items and sanitary products. By employing innovative approaches such as foot-in-the-door and door-in-the-face techniques, students engaged with individuals and businesses, rallying support for this vital cause.
The initiative not only addressed a pressing social issue but also provided students with hands-on experience in applying theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. It exemplifies the power of social psychology in creating positive change.
